Billing Questions

We want to make your work with billing and insurance as simple as possible. Below are some frequently asked questions we receive regularly as well as the health plans currently in our network.

Question about your insurance

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

Each insurance company is different in the time it takes to process claims. Claims can turn around in a week or two, or it can take a month.   At Hillmann, we work with the insurance companies to help you resolve any issues.  This supports a quick turn-around.  Please note, it is the patient's responsibility to know and understand your benefits.  Each insurance company sends you and EOB when a claim is complete, or when it needs something. 



Why am I getting bills from your company?

When a claim has processed, if the client owes any additional funds, it is shown on our bill that gets sent to you monthly.  Please see the billing procedures given to you at intake, or ask the front office for help in understanding.   



I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill - but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?

It is very important to understand your benefits.  At the start of treatment, our front office will call your insurance company to obtain benefits.  This is NOT a confirmation that your insurance company will pay.  We can help you try to figure out what was paid, but the best thing would be to call your insurance company to get their explanation.

 

One thing we do know is that the insurance companies will listen to their clients better than they listen to us!

 

Seems crazy - we know - but it is true.  Again, we will always try to help you.  Our billing department has specialists who check, and ensure claims are processing.   The billing  department can be reached at (815) 730-1800.
